Dr. Fallon Patel completed her Bachelor of Science with honours and Doctor of Optometry with honours from the University of Waterloo. She is an avid promoter for behavioural and developmental vision care, vision therapy, and vision rehabilitation. With this interest, Dr. Patel furthered her studies to complete a fellowship with the College of Vision Development, the leading non-profit organization focused on advancing excellence in optometric vision therapy. Achieving a fellow requires having to successfully complete the necessary education, having met the prescribed criteria, having been examined by a Board of peers, and committing to ongoing professional development in the practice of vision development and vision therapy. This extensive process allows for Dr. Patel to comprehensively examine and confidently treat patients requiring vision therapy and rehabilitation in Oakville.
Dr. Patel provides full scope vision therapy services with in-office and at-home treatment plans. As an eye doctor, she has the knowledge to work in-depth with patients that may have or are suffering from: brain injuries/concussions, learning and reading difficulties, developmental delays such as down syndrome, autism, lazy vision (amblyopia), progressive myopia and childhood/adult strabismus (eye turns). Dr. Patel is actively involved in promoting eye health awareness in Oakville. She has done presentations at the Adult 50+ Centre in Square One Mall and also at the Pallisades retirement home.
Dr. Patel had the opportunity to intern at the Barnett-Dulaney-Perkins Eye Center in Mesa, Arizona where she worked alongside with specialists in eye disease. She gained great exposure and experience in detecting and treating various eye diseases from world renown ophthalmologists. Dr. Patel is highly trained to provide the most current treatments and therapeutic medicines necessary.

Dr. Angela Fu graduated from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry, International Optometric Bridging Program. She obtained her license for practicing optometry, board certification to treat and manage ocular diseases in 2012 and started to practice in Ontario since then. Dr. Fu also has a Master Degree of Ophthalmology from Fudan University, Shanghai Medical School in China where she completed her internship in general ocular disease and specialty clinical training in pediatric eye care. She has 5 years working experience as an ophthalmologist at hospitals.
Dr. Fu has been providing comprehensive patient care in ocular health field since 2004. She has extensive experience in determining various refractive errors, prescribing glasses and contact lens, diagnosing and treating eye diseases, co-management with other health specialists. In her spare time, she loves travelling, music and spending time with family.
Dr. Shobitha Ratnakumar received her Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences from University of Toronto. She then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Optometry from Aston University in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Following this she continued her training at Boots Opticians in Swindon, United Kingdom where she gained valuable experiences in diagnosing various eye diseases and fitting different types of contact lenses.
Dr. Ratnakumar has over 6 years of experience in optometric practice and she enjoys providing comprehensive eye examinations for all ages and fits a wide variety of contact lenses.
Dr. Sandy Zhu graduated from the University of Waterloo with her Optometry degree and Dean’s Honours List. She has completed an ocular therapeutics and disease rotation at the Eye Foundation of Utah in Salt Lake City where she has worked extensively with ophthalmologists and optometrists on difficult and unique cases involving conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and dry eye diseases.
Dr. Zhu welcomes patients from all ages. She strives to provide a comfortable and enriching experience for her patients. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Ruffa Castro has been part of Dr. Fallon Patel and Associates team since they have opened an office at Oakville Place Mall. She finished her Bachelors Degree of Science in Nursing in the Philippines and pursued her continuing education at Humber College as a Practical Nurse on route to her licensing regustration. Ruffa is ready to pursue a carreer in the optical world and currently looking to see what other education would be helpful in the field. She is our office manager and thoroughly enjoys working with all of our patients and she can help you with anything you may need involving your visual needs. Ruffa enjoys helping everyone that comes through the door and will happily schedule an appointment for you that fits into your schedule.
Fadi Iskander has been in optometry field for more than 5 years. Vision care runs in his family since his father and grandfather are both ophthalmologists. Fadi gained valuable experiences in Yorkdale, Erin Mills & Oakville place LensCrafters a long with his passion to learn more about ocular disease and contact lenses. Fadi is currently in training to learn more about dispensing glasses, coatings & ocular diseases in a dispensing office. Fadi is going on a 4 year journey in Chicago to become an optometrist.
